Amoxicillin 500 is a prescription penicillin-type antibiotic containing 500mg of amoxicillin per capsule. It is used to treat susceptible bacterial infections, which may include certain chest, ear, throat, dental, skin and urinary tract infections. It works by disrupting the formation of the bacterial cell wall. Amoxicillin does not treat colds, influenza or other viral infections.
